“I just released a song called Audacity—it’s a total bop,” Jessica told Erica. “It’s a clapback to the enemy… recognizing who I am as a King’s child and making sure the enemy knows I’m ready for whatever’s coming.”

The song was birthed in a tough season, when Jessica found herself overwhelmed and discouraged. “I was getting hit left and right… I started having a pity party,” she admitted. But that moment shifted during prayer. “I felt the Holy Spirit say, ‘Who do you belong to?’ I had to remind myself I’m a daughter of the King. I have authority. I don’t understand why I’m whining.”

That spiritual check turned into creative fuel. “I grabbed some paper and pen, and the first words I wrote down were: ‘Who does he think he is?’ And it just rolled from there,” she said.

Jessica’s musical style blends gospel, R&B, and pop influences—a sound she’s honed while working with powerhouse artists like Maverick City Music, Naomi Raine, and Todd Dulaney. Despite her success across genres, she says staying grounded in purpose is key.

“As you get older, you realize the world has so much noise,” she said. “Whatever way I feel I can worship, that’s what I want to do. I’ve spent so much of my life being passive and in the background. There’s nothing wrong with being bold. There’s nothing wrong with a little attitude.”

Beyond her artistry, Jessica is also a co-founder of Writing Rounds, a global songwriting collective that gained momentum during the pandemic. It became a creative safe space for collaboration and community.

“I can write a song by myself, but it’ll only reach people who resonate with my story,” she explained. “When I write with others from different walks of life, the impact multiplies. I’ve also grown in my faith… hearing others ask questions that challenge me to dig deeper into what I believe.”
