Kenny Lewis Talks New Single ‘God Did It’ & Passion for Mentorship
Gospel artist and choir master Kenny Lewis stopped by Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell to discuss his latest single, God Did It, and the powerful message behind The Healing Project.

Describing God Did It as a “new churchy anthem,” Lewis shared how the song speaks to the past, present, and future of God’s miracle-working power. He explained that The Healing Project focuses on complete healing—spiritually, mentally, and emotionally—emphasizing that “fear and healing can’t reside in the same residence.”
Erica highlighted the album’s impressive collaborations, including Zacardi Cortez, Kim Burrell, and Paul Porter. Lewis said he tailored each song to the vocal strengths of his featured artists while showcasing his signature blend of choir, praise team, and quartet sounds. When asked about bringing back traditional choir robes, he humorously admitted his group has never worn them, calling it “not our swag.”

Beyond music, Lewis is deeply involved in mentoring and teaching children with behavioral and learning challenges. He spoke passionately about working with fourth and fifth graders, many of whom come from difficult home situations. “Even if I wasn’t a recording artist, being a mentor to these kids is absolutely my passion. This is what I’m called to do,” he shared.
