Faith Walk GUMEC

I’ve been serving in church for as long as I can remember—whether it was in the children’s choir, on the prayer team, or helping out wherever I was needed. Growing up, I learned that church isn’t just a place where we go to receive, but where we also give. The spirit we bring with us is just as important as what we take away. We are saved to serve, not to be served. It’s about offering our hearts, our hands, and our time for the good of the community.

Serving doesn’t always mean being in the spotlight. You don’t have to be the one leading the worship or speaking from the front. There are so many important roles, from working behind the scenes to greeting visitors or helping with kids’ programs. Every role is essential because serving others is one of the best ways we can serve God. The Bible reminds us, “Only fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with your whole heart.” Serving others is a tangible way of living out that command.

One of the things I love about Cali Worship is how they make serving easy to get involved with. When you join, they don’t just leave you hanging. They ask you what your next steps are and help you find a place to serve. Sometimes, ministries are set up out front for everyone to check out, making it simple to get connected. Whether it’s security, administration, or working with kids, you can find a place that matches your strengths and gifts.

Serving at church isn’t just about what you do—it’s about building community and growing together in faith. When we all contribute in our own way, we strengthen the church and each other. So, if you haven’t found your place to serve yet, I encourage you to dive in and get involved. It’s the best way to grow spiritually and deepen your connections with others in the faith. That’s my faith walk for today!
