Josh Copeland recently joined Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell to talk about his latest single, “Nobody but Jesus,” and the inspiration behind its unique sound.

He described the track as having “a little funky, churchy groove,” saying he hopes it reminds listeners “there’s nobody but Jesus.” The song emerged from a contest he held with his team, which invited artists to submit music. “After the contest,” Josh shared, “this particular song…just stuck out the most to me. So that’s why we just went on and pitched this song, and I love it.”

When asked about the impact he hopes the song will have, Josh expressed his desire for it to resonate with those going through tough times. “If there’s someone that maybe had cancer and that God healed them…just remember that it was nobody but Him,” he said, adding that he wants listeners to remember the presence of faith in everyday miracles, like having a bill unexpectedly paid or finding relief in hard moments.

Balancing life as an artist and as the Director of Fine Arts at Kettering Baptist Church, Josh credits his family for helping him stay grounded. “With the help of the Lord and my team, my wife keeps me grounded,” he admitted, laughing. He revealed that “Nobody but Jesus” is just the beginning, as a full album is in the works, with the single set to drop on November 22.
