Erica kicked off the interview with enthusiasm, introducing the group and their latest single. “We’re so excited to have you here,” she said. “Tell us about ‘None Your Business.’”
Don Shelby explained the inspiration behind the song, emphasizing its message of letting go and trusting in Jesus. “The song is called ‘None Your Business,’ and it’s all about giving your worries to Jesus and not stressing over them,” Don said.
The conversation quickly turned to the group’s creative process. “We all collaborate and work together in the studio,” Andrea Paige Shelby shared. “Don and Trent are the masterminds behind much of our music, but it’s definitely a team effort.”

Erica also asked about the group’s dynamics. “Who does what in Shelby 5?” she inquired. The group explained their roles, with Andrea Paige Shelby taking the soprano lead, Courtney Shelby handling alto, and Don Shelby, Trent Blake Shelby, and Amber Shelby contributing various vocal parts.
Despite the fun they have, the group acknowledged that working together as siblings can be challenging. “There are definitely some tough moments in the studio,” Trent Blake Shelby admitted. “Sometimes we have disagreements, but it’s all part of the process. We work through it and keep the family bond strong.”
When asked if there are any plans to expand the group, Don Shelby hinted at future possibilities. “We don’t have plans for Shelby 6 just yet, but we have some nieces and nephews who might join in the future,” he teased.
