Fred introduced their fresh single, “Change Your Mind,” which he described as a deeply emotional experience for him and his collaborators. “When we first decided to make it happen, it was overwhelming. We were listening to the track and, man, it got really emotional,” Fred shared. He added that their combined voices had a powerful impact, noting, “Keith and I, our voices together, it was just overwhelming.”
The single marks just the beginning for FKM. Fred revealed that their initial plan to release one song has expanded into a full trilogy. “We started with one song and it turned into 18. It’s going to be a trilogy called Time Capsule,” he explained. The first part of the trilogy is set to release on August 30th, featuring eight tracks, with more to follow in the coming months.

Outside of the FKM project, Fred is gearing up for the highly anticipated “Point 2.0” tour, which will see him joining forces with Marvin Sapp, Kelly Price, Kirk Franklin, and Yolanda Adams. He’s also wrapping up his book, Hood, and working on Pages of Life 25.
In a heartfelt moment, Fred reminisced about the late Michael Brooks, a founding member of Commission. “I met Mike when we were very young at an audition for the Winans. He brought out a book of songs that really helped shape our group,” Fred recalled. He praised Brooks for his role in his songwriting journey, stating, “My first songs, ‘Who Do Men Say I Am?’ and ‘Running Back to You,’ were on our second album.”
Fred invites our listeners to follow him on social media for updates: “You can find me on Instagram at @RealFredH and on Facebook at the Fred Hammond fan page.”
