Tasha Cobbs Leonard recently joined Erica Campbell on “Get Up Mornings” to discuss her latest endeavors, including her new song “Do It Anyway” and the release of her book by the same name. Excitedly introducing the song, Tasha shared, “The song was actually written by my sister and friend, Naomi Rain. I called her and said, ‘I got this book coming out, and I would love to release a song that talks about the same thing.’ It’s all about that theme of ‘Do It Anyway,’ and she sent this incredible song back to me.”

Reflecting on the emotional journey of releasing her book, Tasha expressed, “I feel fulfilled, like when you’ve carried something for so long, it’s like having a baby. I believe it’s going to bless a lot of people. I’m excited, nervous—all the things!”

Tasha also shared personal insights into her blended family, a topic she explores in her book. “We put our children first,” she explained. “Having the bonus mom that they have is a blessing. We’ve all played a part in cultivating their gifts, and I’m so proud of my family.”

Discussing the inspiration behind the book’s title, Tasha recalled her father’s impactful words before his passing. “My dad said, ‘Sometimes your heart will be broken, but I want you to dig within yourself and do it anyway,'” she recounted. “That was the last lesson he left with me.”
